Women’s LOI 2024: Round 2 Round-Up

Sligo Rovers were idle in the 2nd round of Women’s LOI games.

Bohemians 0-1 Athlone Town

Athlone bounced back from an opening day defeat to get their first win of the league campaign. Chloe Singleton got the goal tha seperated the sides, with the assist coming from Casey Howe.

Shamrock Rovers 1-1 Wexford

Wexford were begged back by Shamrock Rovers who got their 2nd draw of the campaign. Kylie Murphy scored just after the half an hour mark to put the visitors in front. Scarlett Herron got the equalizer in the 64th minute.

Treaty United 2-0 DLR Waves

Treaty put in an excellent defensive display to beat DLR Waves at Markets Field. Katie Lawlee finished well to put the home side ahead in the 53rd minute, before providing the assist for Erin van Dolder’s header.

Peamount United 0-2 Shelbourne

Shelbourne were the better side in a game between two of the title favourites. Keeva Keenan put Shels ahead early before Kerri Letmon sealed the win late in the game.

Galway United 5-0 Cork City

The Tribeswomen remain top of the table as they ran riot at Moynevilla in a match that saw the venue hastly rearranged due to the weather. A hattrick from Julie-Ann Russell and two goals from Jenna Slattery meant it was a comfortable day for Galway United.
